How strong it pulls the draw of the reeds each hidden place to my eyes, at least A gift erased elated and praised a patient gaze or a gracious patience How strong it pulls the draw of the reeds each hidden place to my eyes, at least I would bury it all in a heart's beat to wear the red of your bill Can't you tell? Can't you tell? A gift erased elated and praised a patient gaze or a gracious patience

C'est un récit pâle mains évasées mais tous les dénouements coulent entre mes doigts Ces pores veulent pousser des plumes Ces pores veulent pousser des plumes I am alive and barely alive and this isn't over but I am over it Ces pores veulent pousser des plumes Ces pores veulent pousser des plumes

In the early hours of the afternoon there's a patterned shadow moves across the room There are stranger things I've seen I'm just stating what I mean In the annals of my time As the days grow long there's a sense of doubt like a circle of sunlight through a massing of cloud There are stranger things I've seen I'm just stating what I mean In the annals of my time there's an ending underlined When I come home there's a light on

Late, late I'm always late Never seem to notice the time Fate, fate you called it fate but no one ever pays you any mind What happened to the patient man I always said I am? What happened to the patient man I always said I am? I keep waiting for a clearer sign that something's wrong Say I never see it when it's been there all along Wait, wait just let me wait I'll work out all the numbers in my own time Hate, hate I've often said I hate I wonder if you've noticed it's mine What happened to the patient man I always said I am? What happened to the patient man I always said I am? I keep waiting for a clearer sign that something's wrong Say I never see it when it's been there all along I can't keep waiting for a clearer sign that something's wrong Say I never see it when it's been there all along

Just Leave 03:48
Out of the picture Out of your mind Out of the goodness you tend to find Unlocked from the shackles Unlocked from the door Unlocked from the bindings that I never bore Take me with you Take me away Take all the strength that I've saved to stay I know I don't look much I know I'm some state But I've still the sense left to know what I'm saying When I say: Take me away Tell me you'll listen Tell me you're near Tell me you'll forgive me when I'm no longer here I've tried to listen I've tried to hear But now that I'm going it still isn't clear Take me with you Take me away Take all the strength that I've saved to stay I know I don't look much I know I'm some state But I've still the sense left to know what I'm saying When I say: I don't want to stay

Bodyswap 03:19

And in the name of omission the desires left unsaid and the angers unexpressed; In the name of the unexplained emptiness that is distinctly human, and the overwhelming urge to release for all time, the spirit caged in this body; We, the undersigned, ask the permission of passage to the body of another to free this spirit not through anger or violence but peace and ignorance at last.

Dark waters a stone surface cold detritus bodies lifeless Swallowed up without form comes together, edges torn L'eaux foncés surface en pierre détritus sans lumière masse morte Swallowed up without form comes together, edges torn Avalé, sans matière ça rassemble, mais déchiré

And of course it's just like me to oversimplify tell me which of these has a hunger of its size And of course it's just like me to sink into myself so tell me I could be like anybody else And of course it's just like me to make this about me so if this is about me then I'm still here

about

This album is a bilingual journey down a canal, about how one day I'm going to turn into a moorhen and live among the reeds. It's got a bit of a lo-fi aesthetic, as all the instruments it was recorded with are damaged in some way (broken strings, stained with spilt alcohol from over a decade ago).

Instrumentals recorded 27 to 30 March, 2016 in Glasgow
Vocals recorded April 2016 in Dublin
